Gelding Prospects
If a young jack has not matured enough to be gelded prior to sale, PPHFarm will sell the donkey as a GELDING PROSPECT. The jacks testicles must be descended before the veterinarian can perform the gelding procedure. The testicles descend (usually) between 5 months and 18 months of age. If the donkey is sold & goes to his new home prior to gelding, we will hold his registration papers & final Bill of Sale until we receive proof of gelding from your veterinarian. NOTE: our pricing on GELDING PROSPECTS are generally $100-$125 less than an already gelded pet donkey.
Permanent Identification
Permanent identification procedures (i.e. microchipping; branding; tattoos) is a requirement by the ADMS registry beginning in 2010. Our herd has been micro-chipped in the left nuchal ligament starting in 2009. Update from NMDA - May 2010: NMDA is now recommending microchips be placed in the back of the left ear. PPHFarm will start this with all our donkeys beginning September 2010.
Deposits & LayAway
A 30% non-refundable deposit will hold your happy donkey until its ready to come home with you. Layaway plans are set up on an individual basis. Just ask! :)
